Kurtis W. Herpeche kwhremodeling@yahoo.com (432) 978-9231 Namaste To state the obvious this is the cover letter for my resume. There is
an abundance of theories on the way a cover letter should be structured and
the content of which it should cover; mine will be nothing like them, time
for some truth. I have read many of these while looking to hire people. At
some point I came to a certain conclusion, it is my opinion that the vast
majority of cover letters if not Resumes too, are complete bureaucratic
drivel. Cover letters written by traditional methods tend to be dry and
boring, copied from the same online template compromising the integrity of a
unique self-introduction, and attracting your attention to my sheer
awesomeness. That’s right, I said it. If I were to venture a guess, you
yourself have skimmed a few of these as well, and chances are they all blend
together, sounding exactly alike. Hi I'm Jon Doe, I'm loyal, dedicated, and a
team player. Sound familiar? There is also very little point in going over any of my experience or
qualifications in said cover letter as my resume will bring you up to speed
on that information, or at least as much as possible in the space I am
limited to in submitting a resume. Sufficed to say the majority of job
descriptions and qualifications for any particular job posting are written by
someone who themselves are not familiar with the job and cannot truly say
what is needed in a person to not only fill but succeed in the position. With
this being the case, upon reviewing my resume 1 of 2 things will come to
light, I will either be under qualified or over qualified. How ridiculous is
that! If I’m under qualified, I can learn that which I don't know and do so
in a fashion that fits you process, you win. If I’m over qualified yet and
flexible enough to adapt to your mission, then you win. Also, I suppose. I should try to tell you who I am. In reality landing
a Career has very little to do with experience but personality. You want
someone who can be taught, molded, and someone who fits with the company's
ideals and integrity. How can one possibly sum up who they are in a few
sentences? I know I can’t, and the one who can would be as dry and boring as
say a cover letter. None the less, it is only appropriate that I share a few
thoughts. Although I am confident in whom I am and my abilities, I’m actually
not as arrogant as my cover letter may lead one to believe. I am a down
to earth guy that simply wants to work with an exceptional group of people. I
enjoy a challenge and juggle pressure well. I take full responsibility for
mistakes that sometimes do happen, and share the ownership when we nail it. I
am passionate and truly care about what I do. I strive to put out a quality
product/service. Additionally, it is my goal to keep all parties content
during the process and happy with the final result. I love the smell of
sawdust in the morning and the feel of cool thin set on a hot day. I tend to
be quite unless I need to be heard. When it comes good help, people come a
dime a dozen but then there’s no one like me. In truth it is you, and your company that should be selling yourself
to me. I need to know who you are and if you fit my standards of quality and
integrity. I am not seeking a job. Jobs are everywhere and I have had enough
of them. Is it too much to ask for a Career with a good company? A place
where the people are family, they care about the company, the service, and
each other. Where people enjoy what they do, have a since of pride and
accomplishment at the end of the day. Where, instead of existing to work we
work in order to LIVE. There is no perfect job. No perfect relationship.
There is what one can or cannot do. Many of us have not figured that part out
yet. I believe I have a grasp of it. Attitude. If you are still with me then please go a few steps farther. Review my
resume and then call me, there is much I wish to discuss. Completely out
of the box, Kurtis W.
